90 days in
In front of 15 government primes on a single virtual call.
Momentum
Invited to run lunch-and-learns for a consulting firm on a major base.
In the room
A face-to-face presentation to a panel of 5 prime contractors at a large government agency.
Profiles fixed first
Before any introductions, we rebuilt their SAM.gov registration and SBA profile - the step most companies skip.
Proof, not promises.
What one client's first 90 days looked like.
The two steps are not optional.
These two administrative steps must be completed before we connect you to any of our clients. Sending a company to a prime only for them to look you up and find a half-filled-out profile makes everyone look unprepared - including us. If we ask you to fix something in SAM.gov or your SBA profile and you choose not to, we cannot present you to a client. Our credibility is on the line every time we make an introduction.
The math
What building this in-house actually costs.
One experienced capture manager
$130,000-$165,000 a year in total compensation for entry-level capture talent - before benefits and overhead. Senior people run $200,000 and up.
Tools, overhead, and ramp
Market-intelligence platforms alone run $6,000-$29,000 a year. Add benefits, overhead, and the industry-standard 12-18 months of ramp before a new pipeline produces.
The reality check
Of roughly 612,000 businesses registered in SAM.gov, only about 85,000 ever win federal work - roughly 14%. The difference is rarely the product. We see the bottlenecks that keep good companies stuck. An investment in our services costs a fraction of a department - and saves you time, money, and effort down the road.
Straight talk.
Why we don't work on straight commission.
FAR 52.203-5 - the Covenant Against Contingent Fees - exists for a reason. A consultant working on 100% contingency to win you government contracts is a compliance red flag. GovCon isn't transactional - before a single contract is awarded, someone has to rebuild a catastrophic DSBS/SAM.gov profile, write a real capability statement, pinpoint the right NAICS/PSC codes, and get in front of the Contracting Officers and Mentor-Protege primes who actually award work. A pure-commission model pushes a consultant toward quick, low-hanging deals instead of doing that groundwork, which undermines the whole pipeline. I'm GovClose-certified and a graduate student in Acquisition & Contract Management at Florida Tech - I know what to stay away from. That's why our retainers are structured the way they are: real money upfront, decreasing over time as the groundwork gets done, plus a performance-based commission on what gets awarded. When both sides have skin in the game, the process works. That's true in recruiting and it's true here.
